Far Infrared Sauna

The increase in core body temperature induced by INFRARED therapy helps the body’s natural immune system fight viruses and bacteria that can cause illness, and the penetration of the heat also helps to ease aches, pains, stiffness and soreness of muscles and joints, improve your skin tone and promotes a profound feeling of relaxation by deeply warming muscles, increasing blood flow and delivering more oxygen and nutrients to where they are needed.

FAR INFRARED heat is able to penetrate the body up to 5cm and induce a strong sweat 2-3 times more than in a traditional sauna, at a temperature that is much more comfortable. The radiant heat helps to increase circulation, burn calories, works to improve cellulite and removes toxins by drawing them out through the skin. Sweat released during a FIR Sauna is found to contain 80% water and 20% toxins (containing heavy metals, chloride, fluoride & fat) compared with that of a traditional sauna where only 3% toxins are released.
Radiant heat has nothing to do with UV radiation which can induce sunburn and damage the skin. The dry hot air of the infrared sauna is therapeutically different than a conventional sauna in that it can warm the body more efficiently and to a greater depth, because its energy output is primarily used to convert energy to heat in us and not to create excessive hot air that only superficially heats the skin.

Benefits Include:
• Removes Toxins Improves the Immune System.
• Relaxation-Reduce Stress & Fatigue Improves Skin.
• Increases Blood Circulation Strengthens Cardiovascular System.
• Burns Calories and Controls Weight Improves Cellulite.
• Relieves Pain-arthritis, rheumatism, muscular spasms, soft tissue injuries, general aches & pains.

There are a few contra-indications where it is advisable not to use the sauna – these will be checked during your consultation with the therapist before treatment. If you are unsure about having this treatment please contact us with any questions you may have.

Ionic Foot Spa

An Ionic foot spa merges the ancient principles of reflexology with the science of ionisation. When we feel low and lethargic we can gain a boost from soaking our feet in water that has been stimulated by an electrical input from an array using a process called ionisation. The process of ionisation creates energy in the water which you absorb through the feet, leaving you feeling just like you’ve had a walk along the beach – rebalanced, revitalised and re-energised. Many people have also reported relief from joint pain, headaches and improvements in sleep patterns.

Full Body Polish & Rehydration

All skin types are prone to dehydration, less moisture in the air coupled with the drying effect of air conditioning, heating, wind, salt or chlorine from swimming etc can leave your skin feeling dry, rough and flaky and looking dull and pale.

Exfoliation involves gently buffing away dry, dead skin cells that sit on the surface of our skin. This not only leaves the skin looking visibly brighter and healthier, but improves the hydration of the skin by increasing the absorption capability. Lack of circulation is considered a key cause of cellulite, so by exfoliating and increasing circulation we can also help to improve the look of cellulite. Stimulating the circulation and helping your skin to breath improves detoxification processes.

We begin our treatment with dry body brushing, followed by an application of a personalised aromatherapy body polish using pure organic oils. After a quick shower we then rehydrate the body using an application of moisturising cream to leave your skin feeling soft and smooth.

Hot Stone Back Massage with Exfoliation

Massage is one of the oldest therapeutic methods dating back thousands of years. It has many physiological and psychological benefits including relaxation, stimulation of blood and lymph circulation, improving overall metabolism, relieving muscle tension and pain and promoting a sense of calmness and well being.

With the benefits of a therapeutic massage including relaxation, improvement of circulation and relieving muscle tension with the warmth of the stones – add to this an exfoliation treatment to cleanse the area we often neglect and you will leave feeling calm, peaceful and at ease with the world.
